June 6, Ideal Protein Open House, Noon to 6pm at Campbell Drug, There will be samples of the gourmet food and special guest. And don’t forget that the nedt Ideal Protein Workshop is June 14th at 6:30.


June 7: Young Entrepreneur Expo, 6 to 9pm, Payne County Expo Center, Community Building. This exciting new event is a training seminar designed specifically for youth (under 21) who already have a business or want to start one. The evening will feature; educational workshops in customer service featuring Marcy Luter, Meridian Technology Center; marketing and personal presentation skills featuring Dr. Sandra Williams; and business management accounting basics featuring Jami Cervantes. We will hear from experienced business professionals who will discuss topics relevant to the growth of your business.  We will also be encouraged in our business pursuits by former congressman, Wes Watkins. Participants will also have the opportunity to display their businesses and/or products. These displays will be judged competitively and evaluated by marketing professionals. June 7: Parkinson’s Support Group, 6pm at Stillwater Medical Center (Honska Conference Center). Stillwater area families, caregivers, and health care providers affected by Parkinson’s Disease and related disorders are invited to join a monthly Parkinson’s support group meeting. June 7: Stillwater Toastmasters #576 meeting, 7 pm at 001 Agriculture Hall, OSU campus. No other life skill will help you as much as being an effective communicator. Come listen and see how anyone can become a better speaker.  For more information please email Kristen Kovalsky

June 7-8: Library of Congress’ traveling exhibit “Gateway to Knowledge”, 10am to 6pm at the Stillwater Public Library.  Traveling in a customized 18-wheel trailer, replicas of some of the Library of Congress’ top treasures will be open to the public. The traveling trailer expands to three times its road width and features several interactive museum-style exhibits. Items to see include the following replicas: 1507 Waldseemüller Map (the first document to use the word “America”); 1455 Gutenberg Bible; Rough draft of the Declaration of Independence (in Thomas Jefferson’s hand with edits b Benjamin Franklin and John Adams); 1962 drawings for the comic book that introduced Spider-Man to the world;Handwritten manuscript to jazz pioneer Jelly Roll Morton’s “Frog-i-More Rag”; Walt Whitman’s poem “Leaves of Grass”. June 9: Carmike Cinemas Kid Summer Series, 10am  Carmike CinemasThis summer, Carmike Cinema 10 will be showing a kids movie every Thursday, June 9 to August 11, at 10am. Admission is only $1.00 with special concession kids packs for $4.00 The movie for Thursday, June 9, is “Hotel for Dogs.”

June 9: 4th Annual Country Fair fundraiser, 6 to 9pm at Sheerar Museum of Stillwater History. Tickets will go on sale, May 17th for $40.00.  The evening will include music, picnic style foods, and a silent auction. The silent auction will feature antiques, art, dinners, desserts, tours, and other specialty services. All proceeds from the event will go to support the ongoing operations of the Sheerar Museum of Stillwater History. June 9: Stillwater Community Band summer concert series, 7pm on the Stillwater Public Library lawn. These concerts occur every Thursday in June (beginning on June 9th) and are free and open to the public. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and arrive early to reserve a quality seating area. June 9: Golden Oaks Village Chapel services, 4pm, Golden Oaks Village. Every Thursday at 4:00 pm, Golden Oaks Village Chapel welcomes a different church leader to preside at our weekly Worship Service, which is OPEN TO ALL. We thank the worship leaders at Sunnybrook Christian Church (June 2), First United Methodist Church (June 9 and 23), First Presbyterian Church (June 16), and First Christian Church (June 30). June 9-11: ADCA National Dexter Cattle Show, Sale and Annual General Meeting, 8am to 8pm at the Payne County Expo Center. Open Shows, speakers, vendors, demonstrations, Dexter cattle auction, kids activities, prettiest cow contest. Events are open to the public.  Baxter Black will be performing on Saturday June 11th at 8 pm. Limited tickets are available to the public for general admission seating. June 11 and 12: 37th Annual Golden Eagle Enduro. The Stillwater Trailriders Association invites you to ride the 2011 Golden Eagle Enduro! Last year’s event was voted the BJEC 2010 Enduro of the Year! You will have a FUN day of riding and will be rewarded with lots of awards.
