2013 Summer WONDER Camps & OSU College of Education Summer Camps:

The Oklahoma WONDERtorium, the College of Education and Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology at OSU collaborate again this year to bring our community a series of exciting and interactive 3-day learning experiences.  Camps are for young people, ages 8 to 12 years and meet from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.

June 11 – 13:  Nano Science Camp (Willard Hall)

June 18 – 20:  Insect Adventure 1 (OSU Insect Adventure)

June 25 – 27:  Insect adventure 2 (OSU Insect Adventure)

July 9 – 11:  Outback-Take a Trip to the Land Down Under (Willard Hall)

July 16 – 18:  Science Laboratory-Scientist on the Loose! (Willard Hall)

2013 Summer WONDER Early Childhood Camps:

Early June through late July- Tuesdays and Thursdays for 3 & 4 year olds (mornings) and 5, 6 & 7 year olds (afternoons).  Early childhood camps are planned for Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the summer.  These camps will be held at the WONDERtorium for 2-hour time blocks.  Campers will experience the best summertime fun in the Oklahoma WONDERtorium’s safe, clean, and especially FUN environment! 2013 Summer WONDER Discovery Wednesday Camps:

Mid June through Late July Discovery Wednesday Camps offer a broad and well-rounded schedule for the child who is curious, adventurous and active. We offer a variety of hands-on, highly interactive summer discovery camps.  These once a week, 2-hour camps are targeted to ages 5, 6, & 7 and then 8-12 year olds on a rotating weekly schedule.  Each age group will have three camp days of explorations.  To read more about Discovery Wednesday Camps or to register, click HERE.

Stillwater Family YMCA:

Summer Camp 2013 – May 28-Aug. 15:  7:00 am – 5:30 pm.  Arts and crafts, Sports, Games, Movies, Outdoor activities, swimming (M-W-F), Exciting field trips and movie day package, AM snack, Lunch and PM snack.  One time registration fee $25(one child) $35(multiple children).  Weekly cost: $110/child for YMCA members, $120/child for non-members.  Call 405-372-5833 to reserve your space today!

Learn to Swim with Amber:  Sessions are for 2 weeks (8 classes total) and each class is approximately 30-40 min. long. Classes are taught Monday to Thursday with Fridays used as a make-up day in case of bad weather.  Class sizes are small, no more than 6 to 8 students per class.  Cost $60/student plus $20 deposit; $5 discount for each additional sibling.  Classes taught at The Links and you don’t have to be a member to take lessons.  Space is limited, enroll today!

STILLWATER PIONEERS CAMPS

Stillwater Volleyball Camp:  June 10 – 13, Stillwater High School Gymnasium.  This camp is designed to teach the fundamental skills of volleyball:  serving, passing, setting, attacking, blocking and individual defense.  Players will learn how to use these skills in mini games.  Each player will receive instruction from a team of outstanding coaches!  For more information or to register click HERE.

 

Stillwater Pioneer Basketball Camp:  May 29 – June 1:  All day camp will run 8:15 am – 4:00 pm.  Children ages 6 – 15 old are eligible to participate and will be divided according to age and ability.  Camp cost $125 and will cover ball handling, defensive stance & position, form shooting, offensive moves, passing fundamentals, rebounding techniques and team concepts.  Campers also receive camp certificate, camp t-shirt, individual instruction, individual/team awards.  For more information or to register click HERE.

 

Pioneer Performance Football Camps: 

Session 1:  June 11, 18, 25 – Grades 1-6  10:00 am – Noon – Cost: $50

Session 2:  July 9, 16, 23 – Grades 1-6  10:00 am – Noon – Cost: $50 (Session 2 will be a continuation of skills learned in session 1.  We would like to encourage players to attend both sessions.)

Strength/Conditioning/Individual Skills Tuesday – Thursday in June and July – Grades 7-12 – Cost: $150

Stillwater Pioneers Softball Clinic:  May 29 – 31: Little Couch Park.  A fundamental clinic for fastpitch players, all skill levels welcome.  The clinic will include hitting, fielding, sliding, base running and scrimmages.  Stillwater High School coaches and players from the Lady Pioneer Softball team will be hands on at the clinic.  Players need to bring their own equipment (glove, cleats, bats and a helmet), and a water bottle.  All campers must be dressed appropriately for camp (no cut off shirts or tank tops).  Proper pants and socks need to be worn.  Registration due May 1st.

Session 1: K – 4th, 8:00 – 10:00 am

Session 2: 5th – 8th, 10:30am – 12:30pm

Tony Allen Hosts “Grit & Grind” Camp:

July 29-31, inside Gallagher-Iba Arena in Stillwater.  Former Cowboy and current Memphis Grizzly Tony Allen will be hosting the Grit & Grind Basketball Skills Academy.  It is one of three camps the NBA player will be hosting this summer.  The camp is for children ages 9-17 and is FREE. Dog Days of Summer Art and Music Camp: July 22-26 at Sunnybrook Church. There are two sessions: the AM session is for kids entering 1st-3rd grade… the PM session is for kids entering 4th-6th grade. We will be creating music using our voices and classroom instruments, such as xylophones and drums. We will also be creating visual art. We will create a mini gallery to share with family members at the end of the week, combining visual art and music to retell favorite folktales. Instructors are Denise Ferrell, Skyline art teacher, and Trish Ranson, Westwood music teacher. It will be held in the multipurpose room at Sunnybrook Church.

Stillwater Honor Choir Summer Choir Camp: June 10-14, 1-3:30pm at Westwood Elementary. 
 This is it’s 13th year. It’s for kids entering 3rd through 6th grade. We focus on singing, moving and instrument playing (music classroom instruments, such as boomwhackers, xylophones and hand drums). The theme for this year’s camp is All Creatures Great and Small. For more info click here

Lakeside Golf Academy: The Lakeside Junior Golf Academy is accepting students for the 2013 season.  The program for ages 5-13 covers swing development, short game, proper golf etiquette and creating a positive competitive attitude. This introductory to the game of golf is designed to ultimately equip each participant with the knowledge and confidence to play golf for a lifetime.  Students will be grouped into learning teams according to age, gender, and playing ability.  For only $75 per month, each child receives eight (8) one-hour sessions of group instruction per month, an embroidered hat and good times!  For enrollment forms click HERE.

Travis Ford Men’s Basketball Camps and Clinics:

Coach Ford and his outstanding staff will oversee and organize all sessions of camp.  The primary purposes are to teach young men to develop their skill and improve their abilities in the finer points of basketball, improve as people, and to have fun.  The camp staff incorporates development of sportsmanship, leadership, and citizenship.  Under Big 12 and NCAA rules, any young men ages 6 through 18, including graduated seniors, are eligible to participate.  Application deadline is May 24.

Stillwater Multi Arts Center

Multi Art Center’s Summer Art Camp is a fun and creative way to spend the summer!  At Summer Art Camp, cmapers will learn to use a variety of different art mediums including clay, paints, and other two and three-dimensional media.  Campers will also get artsy in the kitchen making cookies, pretzels, flying monkey bread, and more depending on their age group!  Campers have a daily break to enjoy a healthy snack and some fun and games.  A special exhibit highlighting the art of every camper will be held in the gallery in August.  This year’s theme is “Over the Rainbow”, a tribute to the wonderful world of Oz.  All sessions are two weeks long and meet Monday through Thursday.  There is no camp on Fridays.  The cost is $130 per session.

Sunnybrook Christian Church “FamilyQuake/FX”:

Sunnybrook will host FAMILYQUAKE! June 2nd at Sunnybrook Christian Church from 4:00-8:00 p.m.  The event is free for the whole family and includes dinner, fun activities and ending the evening with FX (the family experience).  FX is a multi-media production that engages the family in learning a biblical virtue.  The production involves a cast of young and old with a take home piece that everyone will enjoy!  T-shirts are available for purchase.  For more information or to register click HERE.
